Oenothera suffrutescens (syn. Gaura coccinea) is a species of flowering plant in the evening primrose family known as scarlet beeblossom and scarlet gaura.


Castilleja, commonly known as Indian paintbrush or prairie-fire, is a genus of about 200 species of annual and perennial herbaceous plants native to the west of the Americas from Alaska south to the Andes, northern Asia, and one species as far east as the Kola Peninsula in northwestern Russia. These plants are classified in the family Orobanchaceae (following major rearrangements of the order Lamiales starting around 2001; sources which do not follow these reclassifications may place them in the Scrophulariaceae). They are hemiparasitic on the roots of grasses and forbs. The generic name honors Spanish botanist Domingo Castillejo.

Verbena halei, commonly known as Texas vervainTexas verbena, or slender verbena, is a flowering plant in the vervain family, Verbenaceae. It is native to much of the southern United States and Mexico. Scattered populations have been found along the east coast (North Carolina), and its range stretches south to Florida, west to Arizona, and throughout most of Mexico. It has been introduced to Australia, in QueenslandNew South WalesVictoria, and South Australia.

 
Oenanthe, known as water dropworts, oenanthes, water parsleys, and water celeries, are a genus of plants in the family Apiaceae. Most of the species grow in damp ground, such as in marshes or in water.




Lepidium, pepperweed is a species of flowering plant in the mustard family.

Taraxacum platycarpum, also called the Korean dandelion, is a species of dandelion that grows in Korea. A member of the Cichorieae tribe of the Asteraceae, it also grows in other countries as a native plant, such as China and Japan.

Helenium amarum is a species of annual herb in the daisy family known by the common names yellowdicksyellow sneezeweedfiveleaf sneezeweed, and bitter sneezeweed. It is native to much of the south-central United States (TexasOklahomaLouisianaArkansasNew Mexico) and northern Mexico (ChihuahuaCoahuila), and it is present elsewhere in North America, Australia, and the West Indies as an introduced species.





Phyla is a genus of eustarid plants in the verbena familyVerbenaceae. The name is derived from the Greek word φυλή (phyle), meaning "tribe", and most likely refers to the tightly clustered flowers or the spreading, mat-like growth. Members of the genus are known generally as fogfruit or frogfruit. Species once classified in the genus Lippia may be known by the common name lippia. Some species, e.g. Aztec Sweet Herb (P. dulcis), are used in cooking.
