The Texas Discovery Garden at Fair Park is host to many butterfly varieties and host plants.
Paper Kite Butterfly
Along with the generous display of tropical plants one can also find nearly native nectar plants such as the Mexican bush sage in all it's glory and Mexican sunflower.
Frittilary butterfly eggs on the Passion flower vine will soon hatch and bring forth a single larvae. The larvae will feed on the leaves until it is ready to form a chrysalis.
