Mahonia is a genus of about 70 species of evergreen shrubs in the family Berberidaceae, native to North and Central America, eastern Asia, and the Himalayas.

Leatherleaf Mahonia, Mahonia japonica 'bealei'  is a speciman plant in my woodland landscape.

Berberis trifoliolata 'Agarita'
Mahonia trifoliolata.
This speciman is used in water-saving landscaping and is a good barrier plant.
