What is a Seed Library? For people new to the concept - it is a community project that creates free access to seeds for community members - can be located in a Public Library or a community space. Some focus on seed access with the intent of creating more food sovereignty and others are focused on teaching seed saving and having locally grown seed - with a whole bunch of versions of all of this.

I have participated in seed and plant exchanges such as Dave's Garden and All Things Plants for hard to find perennials, heirloom vegetables, and native plants. Seed Libraries are an interesting concept. The Seed Library site offers ideas for organizing your seeds and how libraries can start programs. Local libraries offering seeds are The Dallas Public Library and Bedford Public Library.
If you would like to start a seed library and have seed donations you will need to research state laws concerning seed purity, (see "Setting the Record Straight on Seed Libraries").
