Family | Amaranthaceae | Amaranth Family

Many of species in the Amaranthaceae  are annual or perennial herbs or subshrubs, some are shrubs; very few species are vines or trees. The succulent glassworts are also part of this family. Included in the Amaranthaceae family are spinach (Spinacia oleracea), beet (Beta vulgaris). lamb's quarters (Chenopodium berlandieri), and quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa). The ornamental celosia provides a rainbow of colorful flowers and beautiful textures.
