I've had two bathrooms textured with an adobe Spanish knife finish and love the bathrooms.

These are the cupboards the kitchen designer suggested. The hazel to ground the eyes in the room and the pearl to lift the eyes to make the room taller. Combining two finishes on the cupboards like this takes a little thinking and acceptance out of the box. My first question would be will this add value when we are ready to sell the house and how quickly will this become outdated. I can see it and I like it, though.
Below are photographs from the showroom in Dallas. The Pearl Maple is beautiful and they have used a lattice tile for the backsplash.

Option: If we have to remove the existing tiles a new tile option could be inspired by the imperial trellis pattern used in other parts of the house (sheers and a rug). I love my sheers in the family room. They cover four windows; 2 with northern exposures, and 1 east and 1 west exposure. I used 8 panels on 4 double rods and the light generated by the “white” was amazing. So if you have a north facing window adding a white sheer will create the illusion of additional lighting in your room. I never knew the name of this pattern, “Imperial trellis”.

I found similar mosaics in Italy that look the closest to my tile:
The tiles are reminiscent of "Venetian" mosaics.
