Organize, Clean out, and Retrieve Anything Easily

Organize and Retrieve Anything Easily
It's all about user friendly
While staying at a Bed and Breakfast in Galveston, Texas we appreciated the thoughtful organzation of the kitchen. In the photograph above you can see the open shelves, colorful Fiestaware, and just the right number of utensils for our needs. Most women will appreciate the appeal. I like this visual as a comparison to what I am trying to achieve on my blog.

An Interdisciplinary Approach
Since I don't use a professional publishing computer service for my gardening posts other than blogspot,  blogging has been a growing experience and I would like to share the process. There are professional indexers and catalogers and to find guidelines for organizing and retrieval of useful information, or even kitchen utensils  you can use interdisciplinary thinking.  I use librarian and curator guidelines for indexes, subjects, and labels for my blog.

Photography
I like to keep my photographs organized. When you take a photograph the digital meta data is automatic in most cases. The "date" is an important function of retrieval and organization. Since the date is stored in the meta data I no longer include dates in my label or subject list. Including relevant information about the photograph's content is essential. As I update my blog, I am going to look at photographs with plant content organized according to plant family. The reasons for this are innumerable but the major reason is to be creative.

Retrieval
Plants can be placed in families and easily retrieved. I do like including library sciences with other disciplines to keep information on the subject organized as well as retrievable. This may seem OCD but just remember when our husbands are looking for a tool in the garage or  shed this approach can be time saving and money saving. Someday, maybe.

Cleaning and Updating
Including an interdisciplinary approach to my blog allows for easy cleaning and updating of articles. Since I started my blog as a place to keep photographs more than to create articles, over time, I have found my goals and objectives have changed.

SEO
SEO is an area for more exploration. Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of increasing the quality and quantity of website traffic by increasing visibility of a website or a web page to users of a web search engine.

An Example to Start:
Below are families arranged alphabetically. This is not a comprehensive list but it does include posts I have made and links to photographs of flowers in the appropriate family, if all has gone according to plan. Now, what I will do is link to posts that are old and or redundant. I will remove the old, and update seasonal favorites.

While building this blog my thoughts were on retrieving photographs for PowerPoint  presentations, sending identification information to inquiries, creating brochures, and creating articles or other creative endeavors that I enjoy and would like to share. One such creative endeavor involves adding flower photographs of my Mother's garden to a current SD card of family photographs. My mother moved recently and she couldn't take her beloved flowers with her. She can place the SD card into the electronic frame and enjoy the photographs herself or with friends.

So after I post this, I will be cleaning, organizing, and updating.
