Garden Design
Hardscape
This landscape edge is a great visual break, as well as, stop gap, for terrain elevation change. River washed stone along a walkway is a natural choice. Of course, flowing serpentine placed stones can guide visitors from one garden room to another. I will use this design detail along my new walkway, inspired by the SWA landscape plan at The Dallas Arboretum.
We selected Belgard Urbana Victorian pavers because the color suited the shaded northern exposure (light) and the pattern complements and replicates the tile roof to create an old world southwest architecture feel. The installation requires a craftsman with an artisan eye. Now, they will add this edging along 50 feet of walkway. Thankfully,
Saint Augustine sod is available throughout the winter here in north central
Texas and has already begun to take root. Goodbye mud and poisonous plants. Hello, clean and safe puppies!
