Liriodendron Tulipifera
The tulip tree is a member of the Magnolia family. It is native to areas throughout the eastern United States. Tulip trees make magnificently shaped speciman trees, and grow to heights as tall as 160 feet.
The flowers are pale green or yellow, with an orange band on the tepals. The tulip tree is the state tree of Indiana, Kentucky, and Tennessee.
