Garden Awakening
CREATING a March Floral Arrangement
Into the juice glass the spring cuttings are placed, including, snowdrop flowers and leaves, redbud blooms, fennel, asparagus foliage, and brassica leaves. Several snowdrop varieties are used for floral arrangements. I believe this snowdrop is Galanthus nivalis 'viridapice'. It is tall (10-12") and the pearl-like flowers have painted green tips. Very pretty. These bulbs are planted underneath two abelia shrubs in my yard as a border plant. The row of Texas redbud trees just starting to break. Redbuds are a spring favorite because their pink flower clusters appear before the leaf buds. The fennel and brassica overwintered and are showing new growth after several days of rain and the recent sun filled days. Asparagus foliage is popping up everywhere.
Tomorrow, St. Patrick's Day, is
expected to be eighty degrees.
Have a happy St. Patrick's Day.
