The Shamrock Collection
The largest collection of hydrangeas in the world. It has been created by Corinne and Robert Mallet in Varengeville-sur-Mer, near Dieppe, Upper Normandy, France. The species, sub-species, forma and cultivars of hydrangeas growing in this 5-acre garden amount to almost 2,000 taxon. The Shamrock Association (Friends of the collection) has over 240 members, of which one-third are abroad. The George Tindale Memorial Gardens
The George Tindale Memorial Gardens, one of the most significant hydrangea collections in Australia, located in the Dandenong Ranges, just outside Melbourne. Records of this property go back to 1893 when Captain J. Pallant purchased the 10-acre property, but it remained largely undeveloped until it was purchased by George and Ruth Tindale. Together, through their hard work, it was turned into a magnificent garden with significant collections of hydrangeas, rhododendrons and camellias. The garden is now managed by Parks Victoria, a statutory authority.
